Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.
You cannot legally buy a CVV anywhere. A CVV is the three or four digit security code printed on a payment card, and that code stays tied to the cardholder and the issuing bank. Buying, selling, or possessing someone else's CVV is access device fraud under 18 U.S.C. Section 1029 in the United States.
The CVV, also called CVV2, CVC2, or card verification value, proves that whoever typed the card number is holding the physical card. Banks require it for card-not-present purchases such as online checkout or phone orders. Because it is a fraud control, its value to a criminal is exactly why its sale is a crime.
Sites that advertise card numbers with CVVs are selling stolen data, usually harvested through skimmers, phishing pages, or breached merchant databases. These marketplaces operate on hidden networks and rotate domains constantly to avoid law enforcement. They are not retailers, and they offer no buyer protection, refund policy, or dispute process.
Buyers are also frequent victims. A large share of these storefronts are run by scammers who take payment and disappear, or who harvest the buyer's identity data for later use.
Legitimate options cover nearly every reason someone searches for this term. Ask your own bank first, since most large issuers now offer instant virtual numbers.
Merchants may collect a CVV to authorize a transaction but must never store it after authorization. PCI DSS Requirement 3.2 prohibits retaining sensitive authentication data post-authorization. Use a tokenized payment processor so card data never touches your own servers.
Contact your card issuer immediately if your own card number or CVV was exposed, then file a report with the FTC at IdentityTheft.gov. Suspected cyber crime can be reported to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center. Acting fast limits your liability and helps banks shut down the accounts receiving stolen funds.
