Onyx Gift Cards is a Grenadian company designed to introduce, market and manage gift cards systems in Grenada for retailers and corporations. We are enthusiastic about the effect and influence we will have on the local market. We intend to expand our systems regionally with a range of product offerings and services.
Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.
Core advice: do not buy CVV data, and do not treat a CVV test validation error message as a purchasing problem. Buying or selling card verification values is card fraud and violates card network rules and law. If you run a legitimate payment integration, the safe path is to reproduce the error in a processor sandbox with published test cards, read the decline code, and fix the integration. Never use real card data in a test environment.
A CVV validation error means the payment processor or issuer rejected the card verification value during authorization. In test mode, the cause is often a mismatch between the card brand's expected CVV length and the value submitted, a test card that is not configured to return that result, or a request that mixes live and test credentials. In live mode, the same error can mean the customer typed the wrong code, the card is not eligible for that check, or the issuer declined the transaction.
CVV length is brand-specific. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover use a 3-digit code. American Express uses a 4-digit code. A test harness that always sends 3 digits will fail American Express cases. The CVV field should accept digits only, should not be trimmed to a shorter length, and should not be stored after authorization. Test mode often expects a specific test CVV value tied to the test card, so changing the CVV on a published test card can produce a validation error even when the rest of the request is correct.
No. Use sandbox test cards from your payment processor. Buying CVV data is illegal and creates a serious compliance risk.
The test card may be designed to return that decline, or the CVV value may have been changed. Reset to the exact test card data from the processor's documentation.
No. CVV is sensitive authentication data. Do not store it after authorization, and do not write it to logs.
