What is a Gift Card?

Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.

What a CVV test input box is

A CVV test input box is a sandbox-only form field that accepts test card verification values from a payment processor. It lets developers confirm that a checkout form captures three or four digits, applies the right validation, and passes a token to the processor. It must never accept, transmit, or store a real CVV from a live card.

Prerequisites

How to test a CVV input box

  1. Open the staging checkout page in a private browser window.
  2. Enter a published test card number from your processor.
  3. Type the matching test CVV into the CVV field.
  4. Submit the form.
  5. Confirm the sandbox response returns the expected approve or decline result.
  6. Repeat with a three-digit test CVV for a test card that uses a four-digit CVV.
  7. Confirm the field rejects the wrong length.
  8. Try letters, spaces, and symbols in the CVV field.
  9. Confirm the field blocks those characters.
  10. Check browser and server logs.
  11. Confirm the CVV value does not appear in either log.

Compliance notes

PCI DSS rules apply to any system that touches card data. A test input box must stay in a sandbox and must not process live card data. Keep the CVV field out of logs, error reports, and analytics. Tokenize card data at the processor and let the processor handle the CVV check.
