What is ONYX GiftCards?

Onyx Gift Cards is a Grenadian company designed to introduce, market and manage gift cards systems in Grenada for retailers and corporations. We are enthusiastic about the effect and influence we will have on the local market. We intend to expand our systems regionally with a range of product offerings and services.

What is a Gift Card?

Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.

How it Works?

  • Buy an Onyx Gift Card at these local stores
  • Give your gift card to friends, family, co-workers, etc.
  • The recipient can shop at our select merchants nationwide
  • Your friends, family, co-workers, etc. will present their gift card at checkout to pay for your item(s)
  • They will walk away happy with the best gift ever...the gift of Choice

Why ONYX GiftCards?

  • Save TIME. No need to run around looking for the perfect gift
  • Redeem from a variety of business island-wide. We will continue adding businesses as fast as ONYX grows.
  • ONYX Gift Cards do not expire
  • Cards are valued at convinient amounts to meet every need and occasion

CVV test cases check one field on a payment form: the card verification value. The field takes 3 digits for Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. It takes 4 digits for American Express. Each case sets one input and asserts one result.

CVV field formats

Valid input cases

  1. Enter 123. Expect a pass, a masked display, and no error.
  2. Enter 000. Expect a pass. Leading zeros are legal digits.
  3. Enter 007 on an Amex form. Expect a pass.
  4. Enter 9999 on an Amex form. Expect a pass.
  5. Paste 456 from the clipboard. Expect the field to hold 3 digits.

Length and boundary cases

  1. 2 digits on a Visa form. Expect a length error.
  2. 4 digits on a Visa form. Expect a length error, or a blocked fourth keystroke, depending on the spec.
  3. 3 digits on an Amex form. Expect a length error.
  4. 5 digits on an Amex form. Expect a length error.
  5. Empty field. Expect a required-field error.
  6. Whitespace with no digits. Expect the same required-field error.

Character set cases

  1. Letters, such as abc. Expect rejection.
  2. Mixed input, such as 12a. Expect rejection.
  3. Symbols, such as 1#3. Expect rejection.
  4. A space inside the value, such as 1 3. Expect rejection or trimming, per the spec.
  5. Unicode digits. Expect rejection unless the spec allows them.
  6. A script injection string. Expect rejection with no script execution.

Interaction cases

  1. Type a Visa PAN, then switch to an Amex PAN. Expect the CVV field to change to 4 digits and clear the old value.
  2. Fill the form with browser autofill. Expect the CVV field to stay empty. Browsers do not store CVV.
  3. Submit the form twice. Expect one authorization attempt.
  4. Reload the page after a failed attempt. Expect an empty CVV field.

Gateway response cases

The authorization response carries a CVV result code. Test each code.

Data handling cases

  1. Check the application log after a transaction. Expect no CVV value.
  2. Check the database after authorization. Expect no CVV column. PCI DSS bans storage of the CVV after authorization.
  3. Check the error message. Expect a generic message. The response must not echo the CVV.
  4. Check the network trace. Expect the CVV to travel over TLS.

Test data rules

Use PANs published by the payment gateway for its test mode. These numbers return fixed results and fail in production. Live card numbers do not belong in a test environment. A tester who needs a specific CVV result picks the test PAN the gateway maps to that code.
