Razorpay Dummy Card: What It Is and How to Test With It
A Razorpay dummy card is a test card number that works only with test mode keys. Here is how to find it, run a full test payment, and avoid the usual mistakes.
Redeem your gift cards at any of our Merchants
Onyx Gift Cards is a Grenadian company designed to introduce, market and manage gift cards systems in Grenada for retailers and corporations. We are enthusiastic about the effect and influence we will have on the local market. We intend to expand our systems regionally with a range of product offerings and services.
Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.
The standard Razorpay test payment card is 4111 1111 1111 1111. Enter any future expiry date, any three-digit CVV, and any cardholder name, and the payment completes in test mode. The card works only when your checkout loads with a test API key that starts with rzp_test_. If you load checkout with a live key, the same number is rejected as an invalid card.
Test cards let you run the full card payment flow, including the 3D Secure step, without moving real money. Every transaction lands in the Razorpay dashboard under test transactions, so you can check webhook delivery, order status changes, and refund logic before you ship. These numbers are published by the gateway for sandbox use and carry no value outside test mode.
Razorpay lists more than one test card so you can cover the networks your customers use.
Use the numbers exactly as provided. Changing a digit produces a card that fails validation before the gateway sees it.
A success-only test hides half your error handling. Razorpay publishes a separate set of test cards that trigger declines, insufficient funds, expired card, and incorrect CVV responses. Pull those numbers from the dashboard test card list rather than from a different gateway, because failure triggers are tied to the specific acquirer simulator behind each range. After each failed attempt, confirm your code shows the right message and logs the error code the gateway returned.
