Short answer

There is no one "latest Joker malware URL" you can bookmark. Joker is an Android malware family that rotates its delivery addresses constantly, sometimes within hours, and most of the URLs you see ranked in search results are either dead, recycled, or set up by scammers to catch people who go looking for malware samples. If you want current indicators, you pull them from threat intelligence feeds and vendor write-ups, not from a random blog post listing a link.

If you landed here because a link showed up on your phone, do not open it. The safer move is to identify the family, check the domain reputation through a sandbox service, and then deal with the device.

What Joker actually does

Joker, also tracked as Bread, has been around since 2017. The core trick has not changed much. The app looks like a flashlight, a sticker pack, a scanner, or a wallpaper tool. It asks for SMS permissions. Once installed, it signs the victim up for premium-rate subscriptions and hides the confirmation messages so the charge goes unnoticed on the carrier bill.

What has changed is the plumbing. Later variants drop a second-stage payload from a remote server, load code dynamically at runtime, and hide pieces of the payload inside image files or encoded strings. Some builds add notification-listener abuse, screen recording, clipboard hijacking, and remote command channels. Because the first stage looks harmless in a static scan, the URL that matters is often the one the app calls after installation, not the one in the install link.

Where live Joker URLs come from

The command-and-control hostnames themselves are usually throwaway. Analysts see short-lived domains registered days before a campaign, hosted on cheap bulletproof infrastructure, and abandoned once the campaign burns out.

How to check a suspect URL without infecting yourself

  1. Do not open it on your daily phone. Use a desktop browser in a virtual machine or a cloud sandbox service.
  2. Read the domain right to left. The registrable domain is what counts, not the subdomain chain in front of it.
  3. Paste the URL into a multi-engine reputation scanner and check the community comments, not just the score.
  4. Look for a direct APK download path. Legitimate apps do not push you to sideload an installer from a browser.
  5. Check how new the domain is. A hostname registered within the last few weeks that only serves an .apk file is a strong signal.

Signs your device is already infected

Cleanup steps

  1. Boot into safe mode to stop the payload from restarting.
  2. Uninstall the suspect app, then review Settings for device admin and accessibility permissions and revoke anything you do not recognize.
  3. Run Play Protect, then a reputable mobile security scanner.
  4. Call your carrier, dispute the premium charges, and ask them to block short-code billing.
  5. Change passwords for banking and email from a different, clean device.
  6. If the device still behaves oddly, factory reset it and restore data from a backup made before the install.

Staying out of the next wave

Keep installation limited to the official store, read the permission list before you tap install, and treat any link that ends in an installer file as hostile until proven otherwise. Joker campaigns succeed because the URL looks ordinary and the permissions request looks routine. Break either of those two assumptions and the payload never gets a foothold.
