A CVV test checkout page is a sandbox payment form. It accepts test card numbers and test CVV values. The page runs in test mode at a payment processor. No real money moves. No real card data is required. Test CVVs are fixed dummy values such as 123 or 999. They work on test pages. They do not validate against a real issuer.
The CVV is the 3 or 4 digit code on a card. Real CVVs are issued by banks. Test CVVs are published by payment processors. Stripe lists 123 as a test CVV for many test cards. Other processors use 999 or any 3 digits. The sandbox accepts these values because the processor bypasses issuer checks in test mode.
Stripe test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 uses any future expiry date and any 3 digit CVV. Visa test card 4111 1111 1111 1111 uses CVV 123 in many sandboxes. Mastercard test card 5555 5555 5555 4444 uses CVV 123. These numbers are public. They cannot be charged. They exist for integration testing.
Card networks prohibit the sale of card verification values. PCI DSS requires merchants to protect CVV data and never store it after authorization. Buying a real CVV is card fraud. A test checkout page does not accept real CVVs. Processors reject live card data in test mode.
A sandbox does not test issuer CVV validation. Real CVV checks happen at the issuing bank. Test mode simulates outcomes. It does not prove that a live CVV rule works. Use processor test cases for decline codes. Use a live test with a real card under a written agreement with the cardholder.
