ABOUT US

about

What is ONYX GiftCards?

Onyx Gift Cards is a Grenadian company designed to introduce, market and manage gift cards systems in Grenada for retailers and corporations. We are enthusiastic about the effect and influence we will have on the local market. We intend to expand our systems regionally with a range of product offerings and services.

What is a Gift Card?

Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.

How it Works?

  • Buy an Onyx Gift Card at these local stores
  • Give your gift card to friends, family, co-workers, etc.
  • The recipient can shop at our select merchants nationwide
  • Your friends, family, co-workers, etc. will present their gift card at checkout to pay for your item(s)
  • They will walk away happy with the best gift ever...the gift of Choice

Why ONYX GiftCards?

  • Save TIME. No need to run around looking for the perfect gift
  • Redeem from a variety of business island-wide. We will continue adding businesses as fast as ONYX grows.
  • ONYX Gift Cards do not expire
  • Cards are valued at convinient amounts to meet every need and occasion

The top pick for a 3DS challenge card test is the sandbox test card set published by your payment service provider (Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, and similar). Those cards are built to force a known authentication result, so a challenge step fires on demand instead of at random. Four criteria decide the pick: deterministic outcomes, documented challenge triggers, coverage of both 3DS2 frictionless and challenge paths, and zero exposure to real cardholder data. This guide covers authorized sandbox and certification testing only. It does not address buying, selling, or using real card data, and nothing here works as a substitute for a merchant account and a compliant test environment.

Scope and legal boundary

3-D Secure testing happens between a merchant or acquirer and an access control server (ACS) in a controlled environment. You need a sandbox merchant account, test API keys, and the card numbers your provider publishes for that sandbox. Real card numbers, even ones you own, belong in production certification with your acquirer, not in a developer sandbox.

Use case: any team building a checkout or subscription flow that needs to prove challenge handling before going live.

What a challenge test should actually verify

A challenge is only tested when you confirm the whole loop, not just that a modal appeared. Work through this list in order.

  1. The payment intent or authorization response returns an action or status that requires authentication, not a hard decline.
  2. Your client renders the challenge iframe or redirect and passes the correct session or transaction identifier.
  3. The ACS returns a completion event to your return URL, and your backend verifies it server-side rather than trusting the browser.
  4. The final authorization carries the expected electronic commerce indicator (ECI) and authentication value, and your logs record which 3DS version was used.
  5. Abandonment, timeout, and failed authentication each route to the right order state.

A test that checks only step 2 will pass while your settlement data stays wrong for months.

Build a repeatable test matrix

One happy path is not a test suite. Build a matrix that crosses scenario with version and device, then run it on every release that touches checkout.

Pros of a documented matrix: regressions surface early, and certification with an acquirer moves faster because you already have evidence. Cons: it takes setup work, and each provider names its test cards differently, so keep a mapping table per environment.

Use case: teams under a compliance deadline, or anyone migrating from 3DS1 to 3DS2 and needing proof of parity.

Common failure modes

Recommendation by situation

If you are choosing a provider, pick the one whose sandbox documents a full challenge simulator and lets you force each outcome. If you already have a provider, start with its published 3DS test cards, add a server-side verification step, and keep the matrix in version control next to your checkout code.
